Hello world :) ,
This is Naeki, your favorite anime fan, artist, musician, writer, and kid. I am based in Ithaca, NY, a beautiful artist hub.
I started making music a little over four years ago, whilst playing on a Maschine Mikro 2 given to me by a beat-making friend! My musical journey then began and I started taking classes to learn how to make beats with the Maschine Software, Ableton Live and also learned mixing basics. I made various beats and mixed those stems until I finally felt confident enough to make my own music. From then on, writing, singing to my beats became my norm as I found it easier to work with those. I then made my first songs a couple months later.
I’d like to use a quote from Victor Hugo describing music; ‘ Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent’ . So I see music as an ultimate form of expression. I could be listening to music, and expressing myself through the brain waves emitting from that kid up there (my head). Hence, listening to all sorts of music growing up, I am glad to say I am very eclectic when it comes to music. I create Pop, R’n’B, Trap, Dance, EDM, some HipHop and an experimental genre I like to call T-RnB ( Trap + RnB ). I believe creativity is stifled when there aren’t many options. So, during my creative process I do not restrict myself by taking inspiration from all sources when creating. Artists that have inspired my sound include Michael Jackson, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, George Michael, Donna Lewis, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Rihanna, Adele. I align myself with Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Weeknd due to their incredible work ethic, versatility and direct, sensual and very emotional style of music, singing, production and rapping. This is how I designed my latest release ‘Vibin’; to be exciting and sensual. I am currently focused on releasing my first album on the 12th of March. The highlight of my career is being acknowledged by a local restaurant! I write, produce, sing and mix so they definitely inspire me. However my biggest inspiration is being able to create something out of nothing(or barely a thing). In this case nothing means raw materials ( be it a sound, a simple note, a color, a word or even better, a vibe). That is a bit cliched, however I really like doing that because it does not limit my creative capabilities!
I also love being childish ( love that inner child ) and taking a light note on most heavy moments. I am a perfectionist on my day but I am trying to steer away from too much of that. Perfectionism can definitely slow one’s workflow so I do my best to stop not too far from ‘Perfect’s doorstep. I’m also very funny ( I’ve been told). Now, with all that being said, written or sang, get ready for my new release!
